Students at Arbor View Elementary recently had the opportunity to beautify their school grounds and incorporate some very important reminders in the process: Kindness Rocks.
View Crews, or groups of combined students from all grade levels, spent their first meeting of the school year decorating painted rocks. The message they wanted to share: Be Kind. And they’re showing it by sharing friendly smiles and reminders, which will soon surround the buddy bench that is currently on their playground. Students could decorate their rocks any way they wanted, and what they chose ran the gamut. Everything from silly faces that will bring an easy smile to a simple written reminder of “Be Kind. Always.”
Kindness rocks were chosen as the first activity for View Crews to coincide with the school’s theme for the year of “Be Kind. Care More” and the metro-wide focus on #BeKind.
