Certificated Employee Jury, Witness, or Election Duty Leave
Any employee who is summoned to serve on jury or election board duty, shall not be subject to discharge from employment, loss of pay, loss of sick leave, loss of vacation time, or any other form of penalty, as a result of his or her absence from work due to such service provided the employee submits a copy of the summons, in advance, to the employee’s supervisor.
Certificated employees reporting to jury duty or election duty will receive their regular salary. Any payment for jury duty or election duty may be paid to the school district if requested by the district. The employee will report to work within one hour on any day when the employee is excused from jury or election duty during regular working hours.
Employees who are subpoenaed to testify may be compensated for his or her time off work without the loss of personal/vacation time, subject to the discretion of the superintendent or designee.
