Elkhorn Public Schools was informed of a cybersecurity incident that targeted PowerSchool, the company that provides the District’s student information system.
According to PowerSchool, personal student information of both current and former students from our district and other districts across the nation was downloaded by an unauthorized user who gained access to the system via compromised credentials. At this time, PowerSchool has stated that the incident has been contained, and they have taken actions to prevent the information from being used or shared publicly.
It is important to note that this breach occurred on the PowerSchool system, and while no other EPS systems have been affected, the security of students’ information is a high priority. EPS will continue to partner with PowerSchool to ensure they take all necessary steps to prevent any future occurrences and protect this information at the highest level.
