Taking a campus visit is an extremely important part of the college selection process. As such, EHS juniors and seniors are allowed two days for making a college visit. These days will not count in a student’s attendance if the student follows the guidelines as noted below.
It is best that the student and family make the arrangements for the campus visit. However, if you need help, see your counselor. To make a campus visit, it is best to do this online at the college website but can be made by calling the college’s admission office. Once the date is selected, the senior must come into the counseling center and pick up a “college visit” form. This form must be signed by a parent and returned BEFORE the day of the visit to the attendance secretary in the front office. If it is not done before the absence, it will count as a regular absence.
There are times when a student requires more than two days to visit the colleges being considered. These days will fall under the normal 8-day attendance guidelines. If absences become an issue or you are afraid it will affect your high school credits, see your counselor or assistant principal.
