Elementary and Middle School Boundaries Update

At the board meeting on Monday, December 11, the Board of Education approved attendance boundaries for students attending Skyline and Blue Sage Elementary Schools in 2018-19.

The addition of new schools requires the district to change attendance boundaries to manage school enrollment. The  neighborhood assignment plan is per the following:

  • Skyline Elementary – Chapel Hill, Quail Ridge, Ranch View Estates, Riverside Hills, Rogers Ridge, Skyline Oaks, Skyline Ranches, Skyline Woods, The Prairies
  • Blue Sage Elementary – Rural South, South Pointe Estates, Terra Linda, The Farm, Trail Ridge Ranches, Windgate, The Sanctuary

Key considerations for this boundary change included the need to relieve yet sustain enrollment at Skyline Elementary, accommodate current and future growth around Blue Sage Elementary, and avoid families needing to cross the intersection of Skyline Drive and West Center Road.

It is notable that current Skyline 4th grade students, who reside in neighborhoods impacted by this proposal, will be given a choice to remain at Skyline through the end of the 2018-19 school year. This decision will need to be made prior to February 15th by sending an email to Principal Andy Luebbe with your decision.

Furthermore, the board approved the middle school boundary change requiring all future middle school students residing south of “F” Street to attend Elkhorn Ridge Middle School. While there is limited construction in this area at this time, this change is necessary to manage future enrollment growth at Elkhorn Valley View Middle School.
