For its fall production, ESHS students will perform two separate short plays for the audience’s viewing pleasure.
OZ
Reeling from her sister’s death, Beth suddenly finds herself journeying through a world suspiciously resembling the film The Wizard of Oz. But with the yellow brick road sold to investors, the Scarecrow reveling in his ignorant bliss, the Cowardly Lion acting like a paranoid idiot, and the Tin Man embracing his emotional numbness, Beth wonders what role she plays in this classic story gone awry. A hilarious and heart-wrenching exploration of grief and perseverance on the road to acceptance.
The Staggering Heartbreak of Jasmine Merriwether
When her lab partner in AP Bio offers to dissect a fetal pig for her, Jasmine Merriwether is pretty sure it’s love. But after seven weeks of bliss, her boyfriend dumps her and she’s sent into a hilarious and awful tailspin that lands her in In-School Suspension. A comedy about picking up the pieces of a broken heart.
Tickets will be sold at the door and are $5 for adults and $3 for students.
