Open Enrollment through the Learning Community (Douglas and Sarpy Counties) ended at the close of the 2016-17 school year. The Elkhorn Public School District has been closed to Enrollment Option students since 1994-95 due to steady student population growth averaging 6.4% over the past twenty years and over 7% during the past decade. District Officials project that future enrollment trends will remain in the 6% to 7% range for the foreseeable future.
For these reasons, the Board of Education passed a resolution resolving that all schools are currently operating at capacity for enrollment option students and for enrollment option purposes, and that the maximum number of students that Elkhorn Public Schools will accept in any such program, class, grade level or school building, or special education program in such facilities is zero, due to lack of capacity for the current school year. The only exceptions to this will be cases required by law per relocation after 2 years or more of continuous enrollment in the District (79-240).
Questions regarding Option Enrollment should be sent to the Executive Director of Student Services, Anne Doerr.
