Regular Meeting
September 17, 2026

A Special Meeting of the Elkhorn Public Schools Board of Education was called to order at 4:01 PM. Members present: A. Parks, J. Shatel, N. Rogic-Greufe; S. Ringenberg, and M. Wortman. R. Vokt, was absent. President A. Parks noted that the meeting was governed by the Open Meetings Act, a copy of which is posted in the Board Room of the District Office. Advance notice of the Board meeting was published in the Omaha World Herald on September 10, 2026.

It was moved by J. Shatel and seconded by N. Rogic-Greufe to approve a General Fund Budget for the 2026-2027 school year in the amount of $163,689,585, with a Cash Reserve of $30,718,073; a Special Building Fund Budget of $14,021,848; a Bond Fund Budget of $102,897,650 with a cash reserve of $30,500,000; a School Nutrition Fund Budget of $7,965,000 with a cash reserve of $800,000; an Activities Fund Budget of $4,000,000 with a cash reserve of $559,782; a Depreciation Fund Budget of $1,972,510; a Student Fee Fund Budget of $436,150 with a cash reserve of $50,000; and an Employee Benefit Fund Budget of $750,000.
VOTE: A. Parks – yes; S. Ringenberg – yes; M. Wortman – yes; J. Shatel – yes; N. Rogic-Greufe – yes

It was moved by M. Wortman and seconded by N. Rogic-Greufe to approve the Tax Request Resolution in its entirety and as presented and read by the administration in order to set the 2026-2027 tax requests for the General Fund, Bond Fund, and Special Building Fund, and that the Board adopts the Resolution presented and on file.

The Board adjourned the meeting at 4:20 PM. The next Regular Monthly Meeting of the Board is scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026, at 6:30 PM, in the Board Room at the District Office, 20650 Glenn Street, Elkhorn, NE 68022.
